What is Seattle Frocktails?
Seattle Frocktails is a not-for-profit community event for sewists to get together, make new friends and admire each other’s finest handmade outfits over delicious cocktails. Inspired by other Frocktails parties around the world, our group of volunteers hosted our first Seattle event on Saturday, October 20th, 2018 at Cedar Room, Ballard. Planning for Seattle Frocktails 2019 is under way.
We welcome sewists of all abilities in the Seattle area, and if you’re from further afield, we’d love to see you too! All we ask is that you wear something you’ve made yourself to Frocktails. You can sew a new garment if you like, but it’s also a great opportunity to wear an older outfit that you feel deserves a second outing. And despite the name, you don’t have to wear a dress! We want this to be an inclusive event, so wear what makes you happy – as long as you’ve made it yourself.
Every penny made from ticket sales goes towards making Seattle Frocktails a fabulous party. We're working on the finer details, but you can expect delicious cocktails (with non-alcoholic options available, of course!), nibbles, prizes and beautiful handmade garments!
Now, what are you going to wear?
Note: Seattle Frocktails is a community event run by volunteers and is being hosted on a not-for-profit basis.
